Kate & Scott ~ July 20, 2013

On the morning of July 20, 2013 Kate and her bridesmaids got ready at the Alexis Hotel while just a few blocks away, Scott and his groomsmen finished up final preparations at the W Seattle before they would all celebrate later that evening at FareStart.  Rick+Anna Photography was on hand to capture their wedding day which incorporated the couples giving hearts as they are big supporters of local charities including one that they hold responsible for their lasting love, Motley Zoo.
Making sure not to see each other as they both arrived at FareStart, Scott and Kate, watched as guests made their way to their wedding venue. Having visited FareStart in the past for numerous chef's dinners and knowing what FareStart meant for the city, they knew this was the perfect place for their celebration!
The bridal procession ended with Kate's parents escorting her down the stairs then leading the way so Kate could walk down the aisle on her own as she was able to see Scott for the first time that day.
Kate's Father officiated the ceremony.
As the newlyweds signed their marriage license and headed outside for photos, guests dined on pulled pork sliders, roasted vegetable frittata's, soka patties with micro ratatouille and a cheese board.
After finding their seats, friends and family enjoyed their choice of entrees ranging from grilled salmon with a citrus vinaigrette to grilled beef tenderloin with a pinot noir jus or a pan-seared quinoa cake with a balsamic glaze.
After a delicious meal, Kate and Scott cut into their pie which signaled the start of dessert, dancing and a truly memorable wedding day!
As a nod to their parents, Kate & Scott surprised their parents by displaying their wedding images but the fun was had when Rick+Anna Photography stole the couples off the dance floor and went to take these shots outside. We suggested that their parents recreate these images without the newlyweds knowing that day! What a special surprise and by far one of our favorite series of wedding images! Pictured left to right: Scott's Parents, Kate's Biological Mom and Husband and Kate's Parent's.
Congratulations Kate & Scott!

Hawaii Island Wedding & Event Locations

With the summer wedding season coming to an end, Pink Blossom Events jetted away to the Big Island of Hawaii right before Thanksgiving for a week of relaxation, adventure and since we can't completely leave the wedding world behind, we made sure to fit in a few site visits during our stay. While on Hawaii Island we stayed two nights at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa and finished the week spending five nights at The Fairmont Orchid Hawaii. We had an incredible time at both locations and would highly recommend a visit! Here is a brief look at some of our favorite places to stay, celebrate and play on the island!

The Fairmont Orchid Hawaii
The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii on the Kohala Coast of Hawaii Island is a perfect setting for Hawaii weddings and one-of-a-kind celebrations.

The resort is a destination on it's own complete with gorgeous waterfalls and sweeping oceanfront views which provide an unforgettable backdrop to any special event. You and your guests will find yourselves surrounded by pools and a soft sandy lagoon perfect for a dip in the ocean along with full access to a number of activities on the property including golf and tennis. When your tummy starts rumbling head over to one of the six restaurants on site to refuel.  One could truly say they'd died and gone to heaven when staying at the resort and hosting your event!

From sand in your toes ceremony locations overlooking the ocean or surrounded by palm trees, you can also choose to host your occasion on greener surroundings on the perfectly manicured lawn, all within view of the ocean.

A sense of magic and romance surrounds you and your guests at this breathtaking island paradise coupled with top notch service making this one winning combination!

Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa

Located on fifteen acres facing the Anaeho'omalu Bay beach and ancient fish ponds along the sun-splashed Kohala Coast, the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, offers the perfect place for your next wedding and event or even a place for your guests to stay.

Located within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, golf and ocean activities Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa offers you and your guests endless possibilities for a fabulous vacation! While staying at the Marriott we were invited to their weekly Luau which was a great evening of music, entertainment and enjoying traditional Hawaii cuisine.

A stunning backdrop for your Hawaii wedding, the resort can be the setting for your unforgettable Hawaii wedding. The Kings Knoll (pictured above) and Lindsey Beach (pictured below) both
overlook the Sacred Hawaiian Pond and beautiful Anaeho’omalu Bay.

Lava Lava Beach Club
While staying at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa we walked along the beach to dine at Lava Lava Beach Club. With live music nightly, the ocean breeze surrounding you and tables on the sand this was one of our favorite places to dine on the island. In fact the night we were there, the musician, Pomaika'i Brown, happened to be the same person who played Nick in the movie 50 First Dates. He was a great musician and the food was equally as good.
While dining that evening I couldn't help but notice that along with accommodations, Lava Lava Beach Club also hosts private weddings and events. There are many options for hosting your celebration at Lava Lava Beach Club; from ceremonies on the sand under majestic kiawe trees to their event lawn with a reception following in the restaurant or continuing on the event lawn possibilities are abound.

Kona Pub & Brewery
A trip to the Big Island isn't complete without a stop at Kona Pub & Brewery. Surrounded by tropical vegetation and tiki torches, Kona Pub & Brewery is a fun stop for a delicious meal and a cold beer where they proudly brew "Liquid Aloha."
If you can't make a trip to Hawaii anytime soon, we highly recommend picking up a six back of Kona Beer!

A Few Favorite Adventures!
From snorkeling to a trek across red dirt at South Point in search of a green sand beach to a stop at the top of an active volcano, Hawaii Island is full of places not to miss!

FairWind Snorkeling Cruise
Hoping on the Fair Wind II we set sail on our way to the site of the Captain Cook Monument, Kealakekua Bay which has rightly so earned a reputation as one of the best snorkeling destinations in Hawaii.

Green Sand Beach
At the most southern point of the island you come to South Point where you have to choices to make it to the Green Sand Beach. You can either trek the five mile round-trip walk to the beach and back (flat and easy but can be toasty!) which we did or hop a ride from a local who will charge you for a round trip shuttle to the Green Sand Beach.
One of only four Green Sand Beaches in the word, Papakolea Beach (also known as Green Sand Beach or Mahana Beach) gets its distinctive coloring from the mineral olivine.

Volcano National Park
Depending on your location on the island, a trip out to Volcano National Park will take you much of the day but it's well worth it!
(Photo by: Keith Burnett; Halema‘uma‘u at night viewed from Jaggar Museum Overlook.)
With a tip from some guests at our hotel we arrived at the park an hour before sunset to check out some of the sites then stayed through sunset to see the red glow of the lava. Our only regret was not arriving earlier at the park as there is a lot to see!

The Beach at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel
Probably one of the best beaches on the Island, we headed to The Beach at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel first thing one morning after being advised that if you don't arrive early, the parking lot (room for 40 non-guests) will be full. Luck was on our side as were the thirty ninth car that morning and were greeted with soft sand beaches and a calm bay!
...and if you're looking for more suggestions be sure to hit us up as we've got plenty more!

Tisha & Rob ~ June 23, 2013

As one of Tisha's Bridesmaids and lifelong friends Paige stated in her toast, after 42 years of waiting, Tisha married her soul-mate June 23, 2013 at Cama Beach State Park. Pink Blossom Events was honored to be of their wedding day photographed by Richard Kent Photography.
The bride and groom were both escorted by their moms as they processed into the ceremony that was officiated by the Bride's cousin.
After signing their marriage license, they celebrated with a delicious meal by Cama Beach Cafe and wedding cake by Plume Bake Shop! The Mother of the Bride provided both the centerpieces and runners adorning each table.
Congratulations Tisha & Rob!

Heather & Papp ~ June 8, 2013

Pink Blossom Events always loves a unique celebration so we were thrilled that Heather and Papp came to us to help design and plan their June 8, 2013 EM Fine Art wedding. For well over a year Heather and Papp were next door neighbors but had never spoken to each other until one day Heather decided to email Papp (she had his email address from a prior invitation to a neighborhood barbecue) when she needed help with a cable installation issue knowing he was on the Homeowners board. While no sparks flew at that time, several months afterwards, she thought about sending a funny, flirtatious message to Papp on a whim. Well to her luck, he sent a favorable response within seconds which led to their first date on March 13, 2012 and ultimately his marriage proposal on December 13, 2012. We were honored to be a part of their wedding day as Papp vowed to support not only Heather but also her two boys who clearly adored Papp. Carol Harrold Photography captured their big day!
Sticking to tradition, Heather and Papp chose not to see each other before the ceremony so while getting ready at EM Fine Art that day Pink Blossom Events made sure they each stuck to their respective quarters in the venue in order to not catch a glimpse of each other.
With final hair and makeup touches complete, Heather and Papp, along with their bridal party, were photographed in and around EM Fine Art
Heather's Bird of Paradise bouquet created by Fena Flowers added that stunning pop of color!
With photos complete and guests arriving, EM Fine Art was ready to host their celebration! The venue was decorated with candles, succulent arrangements and shades of purple and gray while the walls were adorned with colorful original artwork by the Bride as well as photograph's taken by the Groom's Uncle. A Jenga guestbook asked guests to use their creative side and leave some love for the couple. Chalkboard signs informed guests of the evenings festivities.
Heather was escorted by her two sons down the aisle.
A close friend who also happened to be a stand up comedian officiated their wedding and made sure to add a touch of humor on the day!
With the seal of kiss, Heather and Papp were officially wed!
After their I Do's the newlyweds signed their marriage license and retreated outside with their bridal party for photos together as guests enjoyed Frozen Peach Volini's (created by the couple) and tray passed appetizers included baked crab and artichoke melts, smoke salmon cucumber boats and heirloom tomato and mozzarella cheese skewers.
During cocktail hour Pink Blossom Events transformed the ceremony space for the reception. A variety of seating arrangements ranging from tall cocktail tables to various sized tables adorned in charcoal linens filled the space.
After a quick dress change, Heather and Papp were announced into the reception which kicked off the food stations by Seasoned in Seattle. A cascading fresh vegetable landscape and a fresh fruit and berry display filled one station while another featured pulled pork sliders, calypso chicken skewers and bacon wrapped chipotle pork tenderloin. A full taco bar rounded out the third station.
As friends and family mingled and enjoyed delicious bites, live acoustic music by the Groom's brother and cousin could be heard.
After toasts and cake cutting, a choreographed Gangham style dance by the Groom's family kicked off dancing.
Congratulations Heather & Papp!

Flawless. Totally flawless. As a clueless engaged couple, we received great advice that included, "hire the best wedding planner you can find." Luckily, we found and hired BreeAnn of Pink Blossom Events right on the spot...We knew we made a great decision, and as the months of planning went on, there were no hiccups and we had full confidence in her services. The tiniest of details that had to be decided on were handled beautifully and she very quickly grasped our unique nontraditional and modern style.

BreeAnn was amazing through the entire process and even rescued the bachelorette party and bridal shower when the matron of honor sadly proved to be incapable of her duties. The celebration was exactly what I'd hoped for and she was absolutely instrumental in stepping in and pulling it off without a hitch.

On our wedding day, everything was precisely as we'd hoped...only tenfold! The venue was stunningly beautiful and exactly tailored to our tastes. She worked seamlessly with all the vendors and had great advice throughout without being the slightest bit pushy or bossy. Bottom line: we highly recommend Pink Blossom Events without hesitation. ~ Heather

And that was because of you. And, in fact, you left the gallery in beautiful shape. Thank you for that. Cheers, Roland ~ Owner, EM Fine Art
