Michelle & Robert - August 13, 2011

The University of Puget Sound's Kilworth Chapel and Tacoma's Union Station provided the backdrop for Michelle and Robert’s vintage travel themed wedding! The day which was inspired by Robert’s love of aviation, paying tribute to his service in the Navy, and incorporating their love of traveling, was truly one to remember! Their first glance was on the University of Puget Sound’s campus – fitting as this is where the couple first met a few years ago. Oona of Oona Copperhill Photography followed Michelle, Robert and their bridal party around campus – including a stop at their old college dormitory - before the ceremony began. When Michelle was a college student she coordinated on-campus ceremonies at Kilworth Chapel. A very surreal moment for the bride-to-be!As guests entered Kilworth Chapel they were greeted by groomsmen distributing custom travel themed programs along with colorful personalized fans. The gift table hosted a vintage suitcase to store cards and guests were able to view personalized family photos on the guestbook table. Their guestbook was a fun and interactive alternative to the traditional signing book. This “family-tree” keepsake invited guests to leave their mark on their wedding day, literally, by placing their fingerprints in various shades of green to represent leaves on the branches. A great keepsake for the bride and groom to enjoy after the wedding! The ceremony was performed by the campus pastor, a close friend of Michelle and Roberts. Personal touches throughout the ceremony included a ring blessing with their bridal party and parents, signing their marriage license for all to witness as well as a special song performed by Robert’s sister. After the ceremony, the couple was whisked away in a classy Rolls Royce provided by British Motor Coach. Guests made their way to the reception which was held at the stunning Union Station Rotunda. With its high ceilings, natural light and colorful Chihuly glass featured throughout the building, the reception was stunning from start to finish.Cocktail hour was a hit, featuring bar services and a signature cheese display by the professionals at Gallucci’s Catering and music by Chris of Your Song DJ. With the bridal party and newlyweds ready to make their grand entrance, guests found their seats using the flight themed “arrivals” board highlighting each guest table which was noted as a specific airport code. The airport codes signified the many places they had visited. Each guest table featured printed menus noting the various "around the world" food stations, hand picked mismatched china and individual travel themed suitcase mint tins as fun favors and thank yous to their guests. With guests at their seats, the bridal party and newlyweds were announced! After enjoying the worldly themed dinner and a few touching toasts by their fathers and bridal party, guests were able to enjoy a unique cake cutting experience! With military fanfare and a close friend in uniform, the couple was presented with a saber for the cutting of the cake. Thanks to Celebrity Cake Studio for providing this picture-perfect (and delicious!) cake! The celebration continued with first dances, photo booth fun provided by Emerald City Photo Booth and a bouquet toss from the balcony.
With the last song of the evening played, guests outside for the couple's grand getaway! To complete the travel themed wedding day, Michelle and Robert ran through a sea of personalized paper airplanes. The perfect fit to end a truly magnificent day. Wishing all the best to Michelle and Robert on their new adventures together!

We still can't believe what a fun and low-stress wedding we had, and we really appreciate all you did to help us make it happen. We love re-living it through all the photos! ~ Michelle & Robert

Linda & Robert - August 20, 2011

Pink Blossom Events had the privilege of working with Linda and Robert to plan their dream waterfront wedding. While corresponding with them from Alaska, we worked together to create a beautiful blue, silver and white wedding day! Linda glowed on the wedding day and Rob looked dapper in his classic cut tux and blue striped tie. They truly made a spectacular couple! Their first look began within the hotel's picturesque grounds. Many thanks to Kelly, of Kelly Chandler Photography, who so beautifully captured the many special moments this day brought. The Woodmark Hotel and Kirkland waterfront made the perfect backdrop for memorable photos. What a fun group!Linda and Robert’s ceremony, held in the Olympic Terrace Tent, was filled with personal touches throughout. From having their friend and business partner perform the service to the special readings, elegant chair covers by Express Linen Rentals, and the stunning floral detailing by CMS Floral Design, this was a gorgeous summer waterfront wedding! While Pink Blossom Events and the Woodmark staff transformed the tent for dinner, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour consisting of tasty libations and tray-passed hors d’oeuvres. Along with taking additional photos, the couple enjoyed their own private moments on Lake Washington, aboard the hotel’s signature boat, the Woodmark II. The tent made for the perfect lakeside reception. Guests were surrounded by candlelight, cascading floral centerpieces and the Northwest sunset as they enjoyed dinner and toasts. Otto, of Otto-Matic Music, entertained guests with music and a personalized trivia game for dismissal to the buffet spread.Silver favor bags with custom blue and white M&M’s were set at each guest place setting, accompanied by elegant clouded shimmering table runners. The celebrations continued inside the Lake Washington Ballroom with cake-cutting and dancing. The night ended with a full dance floor, laughter, smiles and most importantly, a joyful newlywed couple. Congratulations Linda & Robert!
