My day at Lola and Palace Ballroom!

If someone wants to treat me, all they have to do is mention the words 'Greek food' in one sentence and I'm sold! Ok, well, maybe not that simple, but after my lunch at Lola the other week, I must say I will be returning!
That lunch was spent sampling, homemade humus and roasted red pepper spreads with grilled pita, greek salad, pickled beets (skordailia) and their famous smashed garlic fried potatoes. I enjoyed the long lunch chatting with Alexis Berry, Catering Sales Manger, of Tom Douglas Catering & Events about our recent wedding together at Georgetown Ballroom on May 30th. Working with them was incredible as their food, service and event day staff were spectacular!

After our lunch we walked over to tour Palace Ballroom, owned by Tom Douglas. With 6,000 square feet of space to entertain with, this is a planners dream! From the exposed brick walls to the versatile floor plan, to the venue and catering team, this is the place to host an event!

I am looking forward to working again with Tom Douglas Catering & Events and hope to have an event at Palace Ballroom soon! Below is a sneak peak from weddings recently held at Palace Ballroom!

Picture This

Sometimes simply working with my clients puts me up front with a new and upcoming company. Thank you to my July 31st clients for introducing me to Picture This, a unique idea for guest books at any event!

Earlier this month I met with their Washington sales coordinator to take a sneak peak at this up-and-coming product. Using advanced touchscreen technology, Picture This is an interactive guest book that will keep your guests busy all night. It features a photo booth, photo guest book, photo sharing feature and a photo gallery! And not to mention it also duties as a wedding favor as guests can take home their photo booth strip immediately after taking their photos!
Following the wedding, the bride and groom are sent a final version of their guest book complete with photos and handwritten wishes from their guests! Priceless!

Here are examples of what the finished product looks like:

Looking forward to sharing the guest book from my client's wedding this July!

Wine Favor

I love a good find and this is definitely one of those! (Photo courtesy of Solace Arts)

While visiting Covington Cellars to check out their event space, I happened to notice a mini (50ml) bottle of wine on the shelf behind the counter. After inquiring, they mentioned that these are the new hit for favors! What a fun idea to set at each place setting for your guests to take home or even attached their escort card onto?

Washington Aerospace Training & Research Center Grand Opening

Pink Blossom Events had the honor of coordinating The Washington Aerospace Training & Research Center Grand Opening on June 3, 2010.
A Vision Becomes Reality was the theme of the day as The Washington Aerospace Training & Research Center, in partnership with the Aerospace Futures Alliance (AFA) and Edmonds Community College (EdCC), opened it's doors to the public prior to the start of classes on June 9.
As guests arrived, you could feel the excitement in the air. This facility is the future of the aerospace industry. As noted in the Snohomish County Business Journal, "Last summer, under the direction of Snohomish Country Executive Aaron Reardon, work force leaders in Snohomish County made it a priority to establish a coordinated statewide training center to address the aerospace industry's changing technical requirements. In August of 2009, Edmonds Community College signed an agreement with the Aerospace Futures Alliance of Washington to start a center." After months of hard work, the center is now open and will run 24 hours a day to provide customized training to the state's 650 aerospace companies.

As guests finished filtering into the facility, Linda Lanham, Executive Director of the AFA, kicked off the event with a huge thank you to all of the state and local representatives who lobbied to bring this center to life. She invited many of them to come up and speak about the significance of this facility.

Speakers included:
Aaron Reardon, Snohomish County Executive; Congressman Jay Inslee; Congressman Rick Larsen and Senator Lisa Brown pictured below.Speaker Frank Chopp, WA House of Representatives; Norma Clayton, Vice President of Boeing Learning Training and Development; Larry Loftis - Vice President & General Manager, Everett Site & Boeing 777 Program; and John Theisen, President and CEO, Orion in photograph below. In addition, Mayor Ray Stephanson, City of Everett; Jeff Morris, WA State Representative, 40th District; Dr. Jack Oharah, President of Edmonds Community College and Jerrilee Mosier, VP Edmonds Community College spoke and are pictured below.
In addition, Linda (top photo below) thanked the two additional people who worked countless hours bringing this Vision A Reality; Cyndi Schaeffer, Executive Director, EdCC Business Training Center and Larry Cluphf, Director of Operations, WA Aerospace Training and Research Center (bottom photo below).
After the speakers, guests were invited outside for the sign unveiling where Linda Lanham and Jerrilee Mosier were presented with flowers for all of their work in combining these two forces, the AFA and EdCC, together.

Last but not lease, Governor Christine Gregoire arrived just in time to give a brief speech about the significance of this center. As camera crews filmed, the dignitaries all helped unveil the new sign!
Guests spent the rest of the morning viewing the facility and celebrating with food and cake! With classes beginning today, we are thinking the best is yet to come as we are all looking forward to watching the first graduating class be presented with their diplomas!

"Grown-Up Table"

Rain or no rain, the show must go on! This past May Pink Blossom Events coordinated a photo shoot to showcase a unique table scape idea for the "grown-ups" at a wedding. Of course we had to add some fun details to the shoot as well! Follow along to see how the shoot unveiled...

~
As our groom, bride and flower girls arrived at Jardin del Sol for their photo shoot, they were escorted up to the Bridal Suite for hair by Venia Beauty and Makeup by Alysha. After getting beautified, it was time to step into their dresses from The Flower Girl Boutique. While finishing touches of hair and makeup were being completed, Pink Blossom Events and Laurel's Floral Decor made sure their table was set for a party to remember! With an inspiration of cupcake wrappers, the "Grown-Up" Table was any girls dream. Laurel's Floral Decor created a tree growing out from the table, while Pink Blossom Events adorned the tree with cupcake wrapper covered lights. And no table is complete without a treat! To complete the table, Tiers of Delight, brought along some scrumptious cupcakes for dessert! It was then time for the first glance for the Bride and Groom! She patiently waited for her prince...
...and when he did come, she was as happy as could be. Although one might say the groom was a little nervous! A walk throughout the grounds provided some cute photo opportunities despite the falling rain. After some alone time, it was time to bring out the flower girls! Our bride was happy to entertain her girlfriends at their "Grown-Up" Table. Finally the bridesmaids had their chance for photos showcasing them in their chosen dresses from The Flower Girl Boutique! They all looked like little princesses!
Pink Blossom Events can't wait to use the cupcake wrapper lights and table scape for another event! A great idea for even a birthday party!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this photo shoot a possibility!

Scratch Ticket?

I couldn't help but share this fun favor idea given out by From The Gown Up during the Snohomish Wedding Showcase Tour this past May.
However, I would suggest attaching a disclaimer noting that "in the case of a winning scratch ticket, half of the prize money shall be given to the Newlyweds!"
