Stacey and Mike - Engagement Photos

Every person holds fond memories of places that they have visited or grown up at. Stacey and Mike are incorporating those special places into their wedding and engagement photos. This summer they will celebrate at Stacey's childhood home in front of friends and family who have spent many summers celebrating life's events together. But first, Stacey, along with Elegant Images, traveled down to Mike's Alma Mater to photograph their engagement photos at The University of Portland.

Passport Tour - April 18th

As Shuttle Express pulled up the driveway, 36 eager guests boarded to start the annual Woodinville Passport Tour. A passport and wine glass were the hot tickets that day! Wine enthusiasts spent the day tasting and touring at a number of Woodinville's finest wineries. From chardonnay to cabernet, there was a taste for everyone to enjoy.A mid-day snack of wine themed cookies provided by Tiers of Delight were passed around the bus. Would it be a bushel of grapes, a wine glass or bottle of wine to nibble on? 2010 Passport Tour napkins created by TQ Printing ensured that not a drop of cookie crumb was left on a lap or chin. Stops that day included Hollywood Hill Vineyards and NW Totem Cellars (owner Mike Shariden below) just to name a few. After the tour concluded at days end, everyone headed back to the hosts home for a spaghetti dinner. Cheers!

Cheryl and Scott

On March 6, 2010, Cheryl and Scott awoke to another gorgeous day in Seattle to celebrate their love and wedding later that evening at Embassy Suites in Lynnwood. Alex Studio captured the day.Cheryl was looked stunning as she prepared for her big day! She was laughing and giggling with her bridesmaids as she headed to see Scott for the first time. First cute! Photos with Bridal Party and Sponsors. The ceremony began with the soft sounds of a harp played by Mary Frank Harpist. As guests were seated and the bridal party was in place, Cheryl descended from the top floor of the hotel down to her awaiting mother who would walk her down the aisle.
Following the ceremony which honored Cheryl's father who had recently passed, the celebration kicked off in the ballroom! Guests sat at tables decorated with floral arrangements by Herban Floral and chair covers from Seattle Best Chair Covers as they dinned on food by Embassy Suites. The evening continued with music by Viva Productions and blue and white cupcakes and cake from Kelli's Creations.
Congratulations Cheryl and Scott!

Savor Seattle

I met with Angela Shen, owner of Savor Seattle, at Trophy Cupcakes the other day to chat and learn a little more about each other's businesses. I must say, Angela's idea of sharing her passion of food to the public has been a huge success! What better way to see a city or to feel at home then with a tour of the best restaurants around! Savor Seattle Food Tours offers delicious food and cultural walking tours that explore the famous Pike Place Market, the gourmet Seattle restaurant scene, and of course...chocolate!
Savor Seattle is also a great event to incorporate into your wedding or celebration. Why not spend an afternoon on a tour to kick-off your bachelorette party? Or if your out of town guests are looking for something to do before your wedding suggest they take one of the tours? Savor Seattle is making it even easier with exclusive discount codes for your wedding guests which can be added to your wedding website. The process is simple, to set up a discount code for your wedding guests (ex: save 10% off automatically by using the code “JANEANDMIKE”), send an email to: [email protected] and your guests will be happy you did!

Once Upon A Time...

...was the theme for the baby shower I attended earlier this month. I thought it was a creative spin on the traditional shower as it added that touch of uniqueness that I treasure!

A fun game played during the event was "guess the girth" which was new to me. Each guest was asked to guess how many squares of toilet paper it took to go around the mom-to-be's baby bump! We all laughed as we tried wrapping the rolls of toilet paper around our own imaginary bumps in order to get an "accurate measurement" of the mom-to-be!

The decor and menu were based upon various children's books with a coordinating menu for each book!

There was an Alice and Wonderland spread with red velvet cupcakes and tea sandwiches. A plate of chocolate chip cookies to nibble on with the book If You Give A Mouse A Cookie. Then there were bowls of nuts and berries to go along with the book Bears In The Night! Not to miss was the Curious George banana bread, and a bowl of swedish fish to go with Dr. Seuss's One Fish, Two Fish, Three, Four, Five Fish! And finally chicken wings to sing along with the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and madeline cookies for a sweet ending to pair with, Madeline. As a parting gift, guests were given a cup filled with various teas to go home with!

Voila! Recap

After nine months of planning, I am overjoyed as to how our event transpired Sunday at The Woodmark Hotel. Panache Events and I joked that our baby, Voila!, was born that day and we could not have been prouder parents! Of course this event would not have been possible without all of those who supported us on this endeavor. A huge thank you to AA Party who provided us with everything from chairs to tables to glassware and linens, BBJ Linens for donating the specialty linens, Gifts by Design for donating the Voila! bags and to The Woodmark Hotel for taking on this event when we first brought forward the idea nine months ago. For those of you who missed the event or perhaps want to relive the day, here is a recap of Voila!. Photographs courtesy of Azzura Photography. As it poured cats and dogs outside, there were only drops of wedding inspiration floating around The Woodmark Hotel on Sunday at the first annual Voila! hosted by Panache and Pink Blossom Events. Guests wandered through rooms that had been transformed into spring, summer, autumn, and winter, with harmonizing tabletops, floral designs and decorating ideas. While sipping signature drinks, nibbling savory morsels and seasonal sweets: brides, grooms and their wedding parties mingled with some of the area’s finest wedding professionals.

As guests made their way down the spiral staircase to Voila!, they were instantly immersed into the garden party elegance of spring. After checking in and handing over their water drenched coats to Coat Check Complete, they were handed a passion fruit bellini and easily forgot about the rainy day outside. Or perhaps it was the music of Bugsie Productions who helped set the mood?
Collaborating on the design of this room were Woodland Flowers, Make a Scene and Brown Sugar Designs. Guests were immediately drawn to the entry tables and buffet tables that blended the outdoor elements into this indoor event. From the moss covered tables to birdcages and wire topiaries, Lisa of Make a Scene created a vision of pure spring beauty. The only thing missing were baby bunnies and chicks! The reception tables were highlighted by the pink lamour tablecloths and parisian stripe overlays from BBJ Linens. Woodland Flowers floral designs were definitely spring inspired; flowering plum branches and cherry blossoms were displayed throughout the room. In addition all of their floral centerpieces included the traditional spring flowers of hellebores, peonies, anemones, ranunculus, tulips, hyacinths and sweet peas. There was not a detail overlooked on the tables which included mini-champagne bottles and Buchanan Chocolate favors highlighted with Brown Sugar Designs paper goods. And the final touch came from the sheer drapery backdrop provided by AA Party with various frames hanging from the wall to give it a fun but elegant mood.
As guests sipped their bellinis and nibbled on the smoked chicken croustades and caprese salad bruschetta, they visited with the other vendors who made this room complete, Azzura Photography, Butler Transportation, La Belle Reve and My Flawless Tan.

The tent has just been placed on The Woodmark lawn which means one thing, summer is just around the corner! One could not refrain from entering a sunny disposition between the live music provided by J&J Music to the iced drinks from Mocha Motion. Not to forget the samples from Kelli’s Creations or spicy prawns on cucumbers and caprese salad brushetta by The Woodmark.
Fena Flowers home is the tent and they took that opportunity and ran with it in concert with a&o designs. Tall candelabras cascaded with antique colored roses, vanda orchids, plum calla lilies, lisianthus, lavender parrot tulips and purple stock. Each place setting was donned with a gold julep cup with coordinating flowers of lavender and soft pink. a&o design created scrolled name cards which added that elegant and unique touch. Fena Flowers draped the tent poles with an off white faux silk and a sheer chiffon fabric, then garnished the tent poles with rose clusters and greens to tie in the event.

The ceremony display featured corresponding gold stands by Fena Flowers and a backdrop of gowns from Cynderellie's Closet.

With summer in mind, guests were hard pressed to want to leave this season as they mingled with vendors and listened to the jazzy sounds of summer by J&J Music. A Heavenly Ceremony, College Nannies, Creative Ice, Edit 1 Media, Flower Girl Boutique, Kenmore Air and Mary Beth Person were on show in the summer tent as well.

Walking into the fall room one could hear jaws hit the floor as they viewed the ornate cut-paper installation created by local artist, Celeste Cooning. Her cut-paper designs are not only three dimensional but run floor to ceiling. To add to the effect, her work was accented with chocolate brown linens from AA Party and uplighting from WaveLink Music. This masterpiece set the stage for an already striking season creating an atmosphere of celebration and fan far.The room featured floral arrangements from Linda of Flowers! who determined that it was best to stay with a white and brown flower scheme for the tables as to not distract or compete with the espresso floral table covers from BBJ Linens and the cut-paper installation. The mock reception tables featured two designs; a vintage and a modern table. The vintage table displayed round gold edged “love bird” menu cards, place cards, table numbers and copper maples leaf wine stoppers from All About Weddings & Celebrations. The centerpiece designed by Flowers! incorporated white hydrangeas, hyacinth and mini-calla lilies. For the modern table All About Weddings & Celebrations showcased a more modern and sleek look that even included crystal “diamonds” calligraphered with each guests name as the place card. The centerpiece for this arrangement was raised up with white dendrobium orchids, white lizianthus, brown mini cymbidium orchids and fern curls. To throw in color in the fall arrangements that filled the rest of the autumn room, Linda of Flowers! incorporated birds of paradise, snapdragons, roses, lilies, palms, hypercium berries and protea. While the d├ęcor was popping, Wavelink Music provided the beats and KuKuRuZa Popcorn brought the real stuff with their gourmet popcorn bar. In addition to popcorn, guests nibbled on House-Smoked Pork Tenderloin with Dried Sour Cherry Compote and Mushroom Cakes and sipped sparkling pomegranate cocktails from The Woodmark and beer samples from Gallaghers Where U Brew. To cure the sweet tooth New Renaissance dished out the cake samples.

While taking in all the artistic vendors in the autumn room, guests visited the other wedding professionals who were on hand in the fall room; AA Party, Crown Limousine, I Do Bridal, Patrick Love Photography and Venia Beauty.

Walking through the white feather adorned entry into the ballroom guests were instantly at peace with being back in winter. The entertainment for this winter wonderland mimicked a peaceful winter's walk varying between the soft sounds of a harp by Brasseur Ensemble to Ekstedt Entrainment.
Brides and their wedding parties sipped hot apple cider cocktails and sampled smoked beef brisket sliders and mushroom cakes while perusing the ceremony and reception mock-ups. For those with a sweet tooth, the winter room was sure to put one on a sugar high from the wedding cake donuts by Frost Donuts to the cupcakes by Sweet Cakes.
A Tailored Affair set the stage for a winter wedding with crystal columns and a white chiffon backdrop. The ceremony vignette was staged with seasonal gowns displayed by From the Gown Up. Ring Around the Rose and Paper Fling added floral touches and programs to the ceremony vignette for a simple yet chic winter affair. The reception tables were the perfect picture of a winter wonderland wedding. The nile blue lamour tablecloths gave the sparkling hologram overlays a sophisticated yet classy look. Ring Around the Rose used tall glass cubes filled with "snow" and white glittered branches filled with emerging white tulips. Companion pieces of mirrors and glassware surrounding the display contained blue spruce, white tulips, pine cones and white verbena to create the winter scene. Favors and menus by Paper Fling where coordinated with touches of diamonds to mirror the tables and centerpieces.

The buffet tables were by far a crowd favorite as Ring Around the Rose brought in spare wrought iron trees projecting a winter effect with suspending "snow" filled glass cones cascading with sprays of white orchids and glass crystals. Simply stunning.

Guests walked out with a rosey glow. Must have been the winter cheer?

The winter wonderland featured some additional top wedding vendors including BBJ Linens, Dynamic Designs, PM Photobooth, Reverend Ray Van Winkle, Rosaline Hampton and Sam Day who painted a picture of the event.

For those who ventured outside in the rain that day, Butler Transportation and Crown Limousine were onsite to showcase a few of their top vehicles. Luckily Butler comes prepared with large golf umbrellas!

At the end of the day guests were energized, excited, and loaded with ideas and resources to help check off their to-do lists. As for those who won the door prizes, they were happily waving from the window of their overnight stay at The Woodmark or from their chartered flight for two to the San Juan’s with Kenmore Air.

Voila! It's easy, it's fun and it's done!
