Brides and Grooms Have The Best Ideas!

The truth stands that brides and grooms have the best ideas when it comes to being unique. They are truly the only ones who know how to make an evening shout out their names. Such was the case when I went to my friends wedding last weekend at Georgetown Ballroom. The evening was full of creative additions that represented the bride and grooms love of travel.
However, the most surprising part came as the reception began. While guests were seated, anxiously awaiting to dig into the smells of Smokin' Pete's BBQ, the bride and groom debuted this video, The Seed of Love, created by a family member of the couple. Not only did the video star the newlyweds, but it was a fun touch that started the evening off on a humorous note.

Tour of South Venues

We often think of a destination wedding as a faraway tropical location. However, a destination wedding is really any wedding that is outside of your hometown. This week I spent a day traveling to some of the wonderful destination spots south of Seattle. I must say, I need to venture out more as there are some spectacular venues for a Seattle Destination Wedding!
My day began with a stop at Brown's Catering in Renton.
Owner and Chef, Anthony Brown, gave me a tour of their kitchen and showroom along with information on their services. I have known Anthony for a couple of years, but it was nice to finally see his "home." Brown's Catering prides itself as the Northwest's finest full-service gourmet catering company with their all-inclusive service. Brown's Catering has been around since 1972 with no end in site!

Stop #2 ~ Indian Summer Golf & Country Club
After trekking down to Olympia, I met with Susan Aaron, Catering Sales Manager, of Indian Summer Golf & Country Club. I have to admit, it was well worth the drive! The championship golf course opened in April of 1992 and continues to be one of the Northwest's premiere private clubs. Indian Summer is home to an impressive clubhouse featuring a welcoming atmosphere, and a service and culinary staff who will settle for nothing less than perfection. The 33,000 square-foot clubhouse is ideal for wedding ceremonies and other events, and their Oakside Courtyard is available for outdoor entertainment. In addition, it is located just moments from the State Capitol and an abundant number of tourist activities, making it the perfect destination wedding! You do not need to be a member to host an event or wedding at Indian Summer Golf & Country Club.

Stop #3 ~ Kensington Gardens
Kensington Gardens website describes their facility to a tee! "Experience the elegance of Kensington Gardens for a truly unforgettable event. Just minutes from the city, yet a world away." As you pull up to Kensington Gardens your jaw immediately hits the floor. Located in Gig Harbor, you feel as if you have virtually traveled to a European destination. Completed in 2007, the English Manor-style building is surrounded by landscaped lawns and a private woods. Kensington Gardens is celebrated for the details and smooth, well-orchestrated events. A versatile floor plan which accommodates up to 140 people in their ballroom. This is the venue if you are looking for a one of a kind European destination wedding without the stress of a plane ride!

Stop #4 ~ Tacoma's Landmark
Located in the historic stadium district; the Landmark Catering & Convention Center offers stunning architecture with seven levels of elegant venues for weddings, receptions, corporate events or theatrical productions. The Landmark also features the Temple Theatre Ballroom with Cabaret style seating for 600 or Theatre style seating for 1400. Whatever you are looking for, The Landmark is sure to offer the space for your event!

After planning on visiting Suite One-Hundred for the past couple of months, I finally got to see the place I have heard so much about. The venue was much more than I had imagined! Suite One-Hundred is South Puget Sound's newest and most contemporary event facility.

The personal touches that have been made to create this space, have made this venue something to rave about. The space provides a perfect backdrop for any upscale, stylish, and memorable event. Located in Tacoma's historic stadium district, Suite One-Hundred provides expansive views along Commencement Bay, comfortably seating 130 guests indoors or 180 reception style. With the inclusion of the outdoor terraces, Suite-One Hundred can accommodate up to 300 guests.
Another plus to this venue? The fact that it is home to A Grand Affaire Catering!

Owner and Catering Director, Monica Newby, is full of life and is sure to make each event as Grand as her clients would expect. A full service catering company, A Grand Affaire has become one of Seattle's finest catering companies. Suite-One Hundred and A Grand Affaire Catering combine to give you a Grand destination wedding in Tacoma and around the Puget Sound!

Final Stop ~ Emerald Downs

After spending all day touring venues, I was ready to visit my final destination, Emerald Downs, for the monthly ABC Meeting. Having not been to Emerald Downs since I was in middle school, it was nice to see the space and get the chance to experience an evening there. Emerald Downs provides a unique location for any event. Whether you choose the elegance and privacy of their Triple Crown Suites, a buffet in the Emerald or View Room, or a Barbecue Buffet in the Paddock Park, Emerald Downs can accommodate events year round, making this a great destination for a Seattle wedding or event! During the evening we were given a tour of the venue along with a formal dinner. The food was excellent and I am now chomping at the bit for a return visit once racing season begins!

As I drove home that evening, I couldn't help but wonder where else I could visit for a unique Washington Destination Wedding? In the meantime, I am hoping to host an event at one of the locations I visited soon!

My wonderful day in Mill Creek Town Center!

Last Thursday was a fabulous day in Mill Creek Town Center! The day began with lunch at Kafe' Neo Greek and Mediterranean Restaurant with Jennifer Taylor of Taylor'd Events by Jen.
Sofeea Huffman, owner of Kafe Neo, treated us to a delectable lunch prepared by Chef Clara Gutierrez. Hummus & pita, spanakopita and roasted lamb...mmm! To top it off we took home a dish of homemade Baklavah. The staff at Kafe Neo were tremendous, and the food was incredible! I am somewhat biased as Greek is one of my favorite foods, but nonetheless, I will continue to refer my clients to Kafe Neo for their event needs. One of my favorite local spots for a rehearsal dinner. In addition, Kafe Neo's catering specializes in meetings/corporate functions, social events and weddings/rehearsal dinners, both on and off-site.

While we satisfiyed our taste buds, Jennifer and I discussed the Seattle launch of Wedding Network USA! Wedding Network USA is a non-profit networking organization focused on industry businesses. The goal of the organization is to give wedding professionals a variety of opportunities for professional development through the sharing of business expertise, education tropics and networking. We hope you will join us at the launch party on November 4th at The Columbia Tower. Click here to RSVP for the event.

After lunch, I headed over to The Petal and The Stem to prepare for the open house I was coordinating that evening. The event was broken into three spaces. The first being that of The Petal and The Stem floral shop. They had transformed their space into a brides dream. Floral arrangements of all colors and themes were displayed throughout the store. Below are some pictures taken by Elegant Images that evening. For more information on The Petal and Them Stem, visit their website or take a look at this article written about their owner, Candice.
The second space took place outside next to the flower shop. Lucky for us we ordered a tent from Abbey Party Rents as Seattle showed its true colors that evening! However, that didn't stop the brides and other guests from attending. Guests weaved their way through the tent to check out the event professionals. Daniel's Catering, Columbia Winery, Abbey Party Rents, Elegant Images Photography, Butler Transportation, Frost Doughnuts, WaveLink Music and Pink Blossom Events.Pink Blossom Events Display Frost Doughnuts Wedding Cake Donut Debut!

And last but not least, next door, Belle Provence opened their doors for the Brighton Preview Night!
The Petal and The Stem Open House was a huge success. At the end of the evening I was thrilled how my day went and am looking forward to visiting Mill Creek Town Center again!

Girls Night at Moon Mansion

Every so often a few of the girls in the wedding industry get together for a night of fun. This time we chose to host our girls night at Moon Mansion in North Bend earlier this October. We had a spectacular evening of food by Three Chicks Catering, airbrush make-up by My Flawless Tan & Make-Up and photography by Carrie Stark, owner of Elegant Images and Stark Naked Photography. We spent most of the evening admiring the Mansion. Our breaths were taken away ever since the moment we walked into Moon Mansion as you open the door with a view of the double staircase and grand chandelier.

Carrie of Elegant Images snapped some pictures of some of the girls during the evening.

Mill Creek Skin & Laser Center

Yesterday my skin received a much needed rejuvenation at a visit to Mill Creek Skin & Laser Center in Mill Creek Town Center. I was invited into their clinic to experience one of their signature facial treatments and to learn a little more about what they can offer my brides.

My appointment began with an initial one-on-one consultation by their lead esthetician, Julie Bolin. She reviewed my skin type and recommended which facial would be best suited for me. I was treated to an hour long deep poor cleansing facial. As I received my treatment, the Hawaiian music playing in the background caused me to drift off to Hawaii. Pure relaxation! After a series of procedures, I left the clinic with my skin all a glow and smooth!

Mill Creek Skin & Laser combines science and aesthetics to promote healthier, more beautiful skin. To achieve the best results, they offer a full spectrum of medical cosmetics, laser treatments and facial treatments. Many of these treatments are a brides dream! They will work with you to develop a program to restore and/or maintain your skin or to just answer any questions you may have about the treatments. They offer everything from laser tattoo and hair removal to botox to custom makeup blending. I find this the most unique option as they will create a nail polish or eye shadow to match all of your bridesmaids dresses. What a great gift for your bridal party!

To learn more about their services visit their website or contact them for a consultant. Be sure to mention that Pink Blossom sent you as you will receive a special discount!
