This past weekend Mountain Springs Lodge in Leavenworth, WA gave my boyfriend and I a piece of heaven, and a much needed vacation! Our day started as we arrived in Leavenworth for lunch and a stroll through town. A traditional Bavarian Sausage and German Pretzel was enjoyed outside in the sun at Muchen Huas Bavarian Grill.

After an afternoon in town, we headed to Mountain Springs Lodge. Upon arrival, the valley opens up and you see the Cabins of Mountain Springs, nestled in a basin surrounded by mountains. The gracious staff showed us to our Mountain Retreat Suite. Since the weather was on our side, we headed out on the Mountain Trail Hike which gave us another breathtaking view of the surrounding area.

After working off our lunch, our stomachs led us to a delightful dinner provided by Bill, chef at Mountain Springs Lodge. Our dinner featured a Gorgonzola and Beet Salad, Alder Smoked Salmon, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Sugared Red Cabbage, Asparagus and Sirloin. To top it off we were given a chocolate dessert to enjoy later. We rolled right up to our suite for a night of pure relaxation.

The next morning we were awoken by breakfast at our door. There is nothing like breakfast in bed to start your morning! Following another piece of heaven, we were given a tour of the various lodges and wedding locations at the Lodge by their wedding coordinator, Jami Krenz.( http://www.mtsprings.com/weddings.html). The venue has numerous options for both indoor and outdoor ceremony and receptions. Along with the fact that they can take away additional stress and worry by lodging your guests and hosting the rehearsal dinner, your guests will be in awe of the breathtaking beauty of the mountain setting.

I am definitely looking forward to returning. Next time I’m thinking a winter snowmobile tour through the mountains and fields followed by sleigh ride and a fireside dinner with Mountain Springs Lodge will be just what I need!
